Trip to the Topeka zoo over spring break

Book Tag

Sarah M. tagged me for this and I thought it would be fun! So here goes...

The rules: Look up from your computer, look around the room where you are sitting and pick up the closest book. And closest really means closest. No cheating by running upstairs to unearth your pink highlighted college copy of "The Critique of Pure Reason." Open the book, turn to page 123, count down to the 5th sentence on that page and then post the next three sentences.

"Finally, do not use punishment as your primary way of disciplining your young child or teenager. You will provoke great amounts of needless anger. You will also force your child to oversuppress anger; he may develop passive-aggressive attitudes and behaviors, trying to get back at you indirectly." (from The Five Love Languages of Children by Chapman and Campbell)

poo-poo adventures

I apologize ahead of time for the grossness of this post, but we talk about poo-poo all the time now in our house=) Taking Noah to go poo-poo has become quite the ordeal as of late. He has to sit on the toilet FOREVER and makes us read books to him. I sometimes wonder if it isn't his way of getting more of my attention, but I figure at least he's doing his business in the right place and that makes me happy even if I have to sit in the bathroom for a while! So, the other day when he was finally finished he looked in the toilet and said "Hi poo-poo!" and then waved good-bye when he flushed and told me that the "poo-poo is going nigh-nigh down the hole" =) Then, just recently, after looking in the toilet he told me that there was "a da-da poo-poo and a baby poo-poo" but we couldn't be done yet because we were still waiting for the "ma-ma poo-poo to come out"! He cracks me up=)

little buddies

This is William's little girlfriend, Gigi (Phinn's younger sister). They are about a month apart in age, and really cute together!

This is where Noah spends a large portion of every day, pretty much in this exact position. He sits in our now vacant garden and digs in the dirt with his many tractors. He will sit and do this literally for hours, sometimes just talking away to himself about who knows what=) As you can tell by his attire, it's not warm out! But it doesn't seem to bother him when he's in the tractor zone and he refuses to wear gloves because it impedes his tractor maneuvering=) We're seriously considering not replanting the garden becaue he spends so much time in there!
