We went to the fireworks on Sunday night, I think this is the first time that we have taken the boys to an official fireworks display? The main place where they light them off here is right out by our old house (for those of you who know where that is=) so everyone just parks on the highway out there and we did the same. The boys and Adam got up on top of the van to watch, but we all ended up back in the van in our seats with the windows rolled up and the a/c on by the time it started, too many mosquitoes (in my opinion this is definitely the way to watch fireworks=) but we ended up having a perfect view from our van and pulled out just as the finale was finishing and beat the traffic rush, success!

holiday weekend projects

We had a little break from the heat this weekend so we worked outside. We put mulch around the swing-set and had some left over to put along the back of the house.

Garden update...

It's growing! For those who are interested we have a couple kind of tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, peas and peppers, basically whatever we could find that was left this late in the season, and it seems to be doing ok so far=)

Here are some pictures of the boys and Adam working on our new garden! It was ridiculous how excited we were to get this little garden started and it was hard this late into summer to find all the plants we wanted, but we found a few and got started anyways. This is our first installment of the garden, we have plans for expansion in the future, would you expect any less from Adam=) I think it turned out pretty cute though and the plants are really doing well so far, it's nice to have something to look out on in our backyard! I will post some more updated pictures soon, because I'm sure you are interested in how the plants in our garden are growing=)
